Christmas in an English family home will be an experience of a lifetime. This is a magical time for everyone. To experience a traditional English Christmas from 23rd December - 29th December please see the schedule below.

Enjoy Christmas Eve morning by trimming the Christmas tree and helping to decorate the house.

Enjoy the Christmas Eve Carol Service.
Attend the village Carol Service

In the early evening attend the delightful Christmas Eve Service at the friendly village chapel. The candle lit service is an unforgettable experience.

Play Christmas songs on the piano.

Enjoy a happy Christmas Day morning when there is a gift for everyone beneath the tree. Relax in front of the fire and enjoy playing the piano or listening to Christmas music, if you wish.

Take your time over eating a delicious, traditional, family, English Christmas Dinner. You may learn how to cook the dinner as well if you wish, but this is optional. Christmas Day is about relaxing.

As your holiday continues go shopping for bargains in the January sales in the interesting city of Nottingham, alternatively, relax at home in front of the warm fire.

Have fun experiencing the comedy, dancing and singing at the local Pantomime. A memorable event for your last Christmas Homestay evening.

7 Day Example Schedule:

23rd December:
Afternoon / evening arrival so that you are ready for the start of Christmas. Enjoy a warming English countryside dinner before relaxing in the lounge with a roaring fire in the wood burner.
Get to know your host family and find out more about your Christmas homestay schedule.

24th December: (Christmas Eve)
Preparation for Christmas including making and finishing the decorations. Trim one of the Christmas trees. Late afternoon Christmas Carol Concert in the village church with mince pies and hot non-alcoholic fruit punch. Christmas Eve dinner and an early night to prepare for the visit of Santa Claus on Christmas Day.

25th December: (Christmas Day)
Wake up to the anticipation that Santa has left gifts for all people who have been good during the year. Enjoy breakfast before we prepare a traditional countryside Christmas dinner. (If you wish we can teach you how to make Christmas dinner.) Enjoy Christmas dinner with family. Evening relaxing watching Christmas television or playing games.

26th December: (Boxing Day)
Enjoy a leisurely morning or make mince pies. Enjoy a Boxing Day lunch of home-made soup and farmhouse bread. Go for an afternoon walk if the weather is fine before returning home for tea. Evening relaxing watching Christmas television or playing games by the fire.

27th December:
After breakfast "Hit the Sales!"
Visit our local city of Nottingham and shop until you drop with bargain sales. Let your money go further, London goods but not London prices! Return home in the evening to a cosy dinner.

28th December:
Morning at your leisure before enjoying lunch.
Afternoon visit to a traditional Christmas Pantomime in Grantham's cute little theatre. (We must book as soon as possible to ensure that seats are available) Enjoy a farewell dinner.

29th December:
Have a hearty breakfast before your return journey home.
