Celebrate the life of one of the world's greatest scientists and mathematicians, Sir Isaac Newton by enjoying a homestay package with Homestay England based upon his life and achievements.

Newton is world renowned for his many scientific discoveries and his genius which led to the development of  the principles of modern physics. Woolsthorpe Manor, the birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton, is in the neighbouring village to Skillington where you will be homestaying.

Visit the bedroom where Sir Isaac Newton was born and the bedroom where he carried out many of his experiments. Learn about his life from the interesting exhibitions within his home. Have fun investigating his theories in the Science Centre.

Newton's Sensory Garden

Spend time in the orchard in which Newton made his discovery of the theory of gravity. See the famous apple tree. Enjoy the modern sculpture celebrating this event in the Grantham Sensory Garden.

Skillington double rainbows
Isaac Newton's School

Sir Isaac Newton is said to have visited Skillington to study the double rainbows that occur over the fields and it is said that he had schooling in the village. Enjoy time walking around the beautiful countryside which inspired him.

See the King's School where Newton was a pupil in the local town of Grantham. Admire St Wulfram's church which Newton is believed to have depicted in one of his childhood drawings inside Woolsthorpe Manor. Take the short walk to Newton's statue.

Enjoy a memorable day in Cambridge visiting Trinity College where Sir Isaac Newton studied. Stand in the Great Court before visiting the Wren Library where some of Newton's books are on display. Finally take a look in Trinity College Chapel, the home of the famous Trinity College Choir, a great experience to remember from your day in Cambridge and your Sir Isaac Newton themed homestay.

Day 1: Arrival at your homestay destination (p.m.)

Day 2: Sir Isaac Newton Presentation (a.m.)
Learn some interesting facts about Sir Isaac Newton in this presentation before spending time exploring around Skillington and the surrounding countryside

Woolsthorpe Manor (p.m.)
Visit the birthplace of the great scientist Sir Isaac Newton and see the tree that the famous apple originated from. Explore the exciting science centre which demonstrates many of his theories.

Day 3: Newton in Grantham (a.m.)
See the places of interest in Grantham in relation to Sir Isaac Newton including where he went to school and to church.

Stoke Rochford Hall (p.m.)
Have a picnic lunch at the delightful Stoke Rochford Hall before walking in the splendid grounds containing a stone obelisk in recognition of Newton.

Day 4: Free Day or Newton in London (All day)
Enjoy a relaxing day at your homestay accommodation or make a short train journey (at own expense) to London to view the places of signifcance to Newton, in this capital city. During your stay we will give you details of where you may wish to visit. Continue your time in London before returning on an early evening train.

Day 5: National Space Centre (a.m.)
Visit the National Space Centre to experience all matters of space, science and astronomy. You will be amazed to discover how much the modern development of these subjects depended upon the brilliant mind of Sir Isaac Newton!

Relax in the peaceful garden, home, village or surrounding countryside.

Day 6: Newton in Cambridge (a.m.)
Have a memorable day in Cambridge where Sir Isaac Newton studied at Trinity College. Stand in the Great Court and marvel at the magnificent building. See the library where some of Newton's books are on display.
