Before boarding the train for your homestay accommodation enjoy fish & chips at the Parcel Yard pub within King's Cross station.

You will homestay at the relaxing countryside home belonging to Russ and his wife Patricia, set in the pretty English village of Skillington in south Lincolnshire, close to the borders of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and quaint Rutland. Enjoy delicious, healthy home cooked food, using locally and organically grown produce. Make the most of the special opportunity of visiting a private English garden in which you can drink tea and chat with the owners.

Visit Barnsdale Gardens which offers a wealth of ideas for garden design, as it consists of 37 small gardens. Compare this with the grandeur of the breathtaking Chatsworth House and Garden. This palatial house and garden is considered by many to be the finest in England, which is the reason it is used as a setting in many televised period dramas and movies.

Belton House and Garden has been a firm favourite with the English Royal Family over the years. This beautiful country house with it's formal gardens and wonderful parkland can be enjoyed at your leisure. Thurs 14th May (p.m.) Arrival at your homestay accommodation
Arrival and welcome to your home stay accommodation in the heart of the beautiful English countryside.

Fri 15th May Private Garden (a.m.)
Enjoy a private garden visit. After looking around the beautiful garden chat with the owners over tea and cake in their English garden.

Belton House and Garden (p.m.)
After the tasty afternoon tea explore this fine 17th century country house which displays a stunning array of decorations, paintings and furniture. It has been a favourite place of England's royal family over the centuries. Enjoy the formal gardens, which in the 19th century were restored to their former George II glory.

Sat 16th May (All day) Chatsworth House & Garden
Visit the spectacular Chatsworth House, known as the 'Palace of the Peak.' Chatsworth is a stately home with immense beauty and has one of Europe's leading art collections. It is a popular location for filming period dramas and feature films.
Enjoy the magnificent garden which has been designed over the centuries by Britain's leading garden designers and is a wonderful example of an English landscape garden designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. A visit to the gift shops is a good opportunity to buy high quality presents.

Sun 17th May (All day) Cotswolds Gardens Special
Take your time to investigate Hidcote Manor Garden, designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It is a floral treat which reveals delightful gardening surprises as you navigate it. It is one of England's most influential gardens and is ripe with ideas if you are a keen gardener. After a picnic lunch soak up the charm of the world renowned Kiftsgate Court Garden and enjoy it's soft and feminine design inspired by three generations of lady gardeners.

Mon 18th May Barnsdale Gardens (a.m.)
Visit Barnsdale garden which was created during the production of BBC Gardener's World programme on national television over 17 years. This garden for all seasons is made up of 37 small individual gardens of various styles so is abundant with new ideas for the gardening enthusiast.

Relax in your Homestay Garden (p.m.)
Relax in your homestay accommodation and beautiful surrounding countryside or enjoy watching the Royal Wedding television coverage. Enjoy a delicious homemade traditional afternoon tea before visiting Barnsdale.

Tues 19th May (All day) The Chelsea Flower Show
A visit to The Chelsea Flower Show is a must for anyone interested in gardening. The Chelsea Flower Show is the number one gardening show in the world where the best in horticulture and design are on show, so there is something for everyone. Marvel at the show gardens, floral marquees and companies selling their horticultural goods. Take a walk around Chelsea in Bloom. Have fish & chips at the Parcel Yard pub before travelling back to your homestay acommodation in Skillington with lasting memories of a wonderful experience.
