During Patricia's time in Japan in the 1990's, she taught about English Afternoon Tea. Both Russ and Patricia appeared on NHK, discussing the importance of tea drinking for relaxation and have continued to do this with their homestay guests back in England, ever since.

7 Day Example Schedule:

Day 1: Arrival at your homestay destination (p.m.)

Day 2 Tea lesson (a.m.)
Learn about the history of tea and English tea traditions. Look at and explore the different styles of teaware, crockery and linen used in England past and present. Enjoy tasting a variety of delicious teas.

Visit a local tea shop (p.m.)
Sample refreshing tea or coffee & cake of your choice.

Day 3: Relaxation time and Baking (a.m.)
Relax in the peaceful garden, home, village or surrounding countryside before baking a traditional Victoria sandwich cake.

Traditional Afternoon Tea (p.m.)
Experience learning about the art of traditional English Afternoon Tea. Learn how to set the table for this event, using the teaware of your choice. Bake delicious scones and enjoy these with home-made jam and cream. Prepare tasty, typically English sandwiches. Enjoy serving or simply eating the afternoon tea.

Day 4 York and Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms (All day)
Experience a day in historic York. Relax over Afternoon Tea, in the world famous Bettys of York to the accompaniment of live piano music in the Art Deco Belmont Room. Enjoy window shopping or buying tea souvenirs in the interesting Stonegate Antique Centre.

A visit to the breathtaking York Minster and a walk in the old sector of this beautiful city completes an unforgettable and very English day out.

Day 5: Relaxation time (a.m.)
Relax in the peaceful garden, home, village or surrounding countryside

The Earl Grey Experience( p.m.)
Learn how to make Earl Grey tea bread, an excellent companion to the Earl Grey tea you will enjoy drinking from the Limited Edition Earl Grey tea set.

Day 6: The World of Wedgwood (All day)
Spend a fascinating morning exploring the world-class Wedgwood museum. Enjoy the memorable experience of relaxing over dinner in the Wedgwood Tearoom, where your food is served on the finest Wedgwood crockery.

Continue the Wedgwood Visitor Experience by watching the skillful creation of the ceramics during the reinvented Wedgwood interactive factory tour and visiting the tempting Wedgwood shop.
