This homestay is particularly special for any followers of Venetia on NHK World, who share our love of a natural lifestyle. Spend an unforgettable day visiting Kedleston Hall, Venetia's English birth home. This breathtaking, neo-classical mansion built in the 1760s is a truly unforgettable sight. Enjoy the freedom of exploring the spacious parkland, sip tea in the gorgeous restaurant and shop in the well-stocked gift shop.

Visit the local Barnsdale Gardens, which is an interesting and colourful collection of 37 small gardens and therefore is a gardener's delight. It offers many ideas for the beautiful design and planting of smaller gardens and balconies. Whether your interests are flowers, herbs, shrubs, fruit or vegetables, Barnsdale has some gardening ideas that you will love!

In the middle of your homestay you have the choice of a visit to the prestigious World of Wedgwood Visitor Centre or a day trip to the Cotswolds. The new Wedgwood Visitor Centre offers opportunities to view or shop for beautiful teaware, as well as learning about the history of this world leader of quality ceramics in the Wedgwood Museum. See the ceramics being skilfully made in the Wedgwood factory. Choose to eat afternoon tea or dinner in the traditional, English Wedgwood Tea Room.

If you choose the Cotswold Day option, you can enjoy the magnificent architecture and sample delicious tea and cake in one of Chipping Campden's quintessential English tea shops. After sightseeing and shopping in Chipping Campden, we drive to the antiques capital of the Cotswolds, Stow on the Wolds. Spend time browsing the quaint shops where you will find some great gifts, both new and old for your friends, family and yourself.

A trip to the Cotswolds wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Arlington Row Cottages in Bibury. This scene is the most iconic image of the Cotswolds and a great photo opportunity.

Our last destination is the 'Venice of the Cotswolds', Bourton on the Water. Take a leisurely walk around the cute shops and the pretty, bridge covered stream, as it meanders through the centre of this beautiful village. Enjoy high quality fish & chips at a specialist fish & chip restaurant before returning home.

After relaxing the following day, enjoy a luxury afternoon tea experience in the splendid, local venue of Stoke Rochford Hall. This former country house has stunning architecture and beautiful gardens and grounds to walk around

An unforgettable day is spent at Chatsworth House & Garden. This is described by many people as the best country house and garden in England and we agree! The house is truly magnificent and used as a location in many films and dramas. The English landscape garden designed by Lancelot "Capability" Brown offers you a memorable experience. Enjoy a picnic in the garden and relax whilst looking in the impressive gift shops, stocked with high quality items.

7 Day Schedule Example:

Day 1: Arrival at your homestay destination. (a.m.)

Day 2: Kedleston Hall * (All day)
View the unforgettable Kedleston Hall, built in 1765 by the world famous Robert Adam. This magnificent neo-classical mansion was built as 'a temple to the arts', to showcase the best paintings, sculpture and furniture of it's time.
Eat a delicious dinner in the former 18th-century kitchens, which are now the atmospheric restaurant. Relax within the original features of these rooms, whilst enjoying the comfort of the contemporary furnishings. Stroll around the beautifully landscaped park. Visit the gift shop for window shopping or buying

Day 3: Relaxation with Tea in the Garden (a.m.)
Relax with a pot of tea in the peaceful garden or home. Take a walk in the village or surrounding countryside before enjoying a delicious, healthy homemade lunch.

Barnsdale Gardens (p.m.)
Visit Barnsdale garden which was created during the production of the BBC Gardener's World programme on national television over a 17 year period. This garden for all seasons is made up of 37 small individual gardens of various styles.

Day 4: The World of Wedgwood or Cotswold’s Day (All day.)
Depending upon your individual choice, spend a day at the fascinating World of Wedgwood in The Potteries or spend an unforgettable day in the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Day 5: Relaxation time (a.m.)
Relax in the peaceful garden, home, village or surrounding countryside

Afternoon Tea at Stoke Rochford Hall (p.m.)
Relax in the elegant Stoke Rochford Hall whilst enjoying a delicious, traditional afternoon tea with Russ or Patricia.

Day 6: Chatsworth House and Garden * * (All day)
Visit the spectacular Chatsworth House, known as the 'Palace of the Peak.' Chatsworth is a stately home with immense beauty and has one of Europe's leading art collections. It is a popular location for filming period dramas and feature films.
Enjoy the magnificent garden which has been designed over the centuries by Britain's leading garden designers and is a wonderful example of an English landscape garden designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. A visit to the gift shops is a good opportunity to buy high quality presents.
